We reported earlier today that Texans safety Ed Reed will likely miss the start of training camp after undergoing offseason hip surgery.
Houston head coach Gary Kubiak told Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com that they didn’t expect Reed to have to undergo surgery for his hip when they signed him this offseason.
Kubiak on Ed Reed (hip): “We didn’t expect it, but it started bothering him. That’s when we got aggressive in what we needed to do”

The Ravens knew what they were doing when they let Reed walk in free agency. The fact of the matter is that he’s breaking down and he’s not the same player he once was.
